THE most hilarious thing happened to me tonight when I was praying...and being still.
I started to hear Bonnie Tyler singing in my head and/or my heart - maybe it was both.
BUT it was definitely her...and it came, almost immediately, in response to my prayers.
Prayers that only He knows the details of...better than I know them myself.
I am certain that I have not heard this song for probably 20 years. BUT it was like I knew every word.
I then did what wisdom would do...I googled the lyrics. Read them and LAUGHED. They were an answer to my prayers
I heard her singing "Holding out for a hero"...
Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and dream
of what I need
[Chorus]
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There's someone reaching back for me
Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet
[Chorus]
Up where the mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the lightning splits the sea
I could swear that there's someone somewhere
Watching me
Through the wind and the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach
Like the fire in my blood
Now, only God and I know what the prayer was that this was the answer to.
BUT - read them again - doesn't this sound so much like Jesus and the love that He so freely gives?
I'll leave it with you...worth a YouTube search - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBwS66EBUcY
